Nursery (Pre-K)
The
Nursery program is a bridge between home and school for the young child. Children
under the age of seven learn primarily through play and imitation. The Waldorf
environment fosters the child's capacities for imagination and creativity.
The rhythms of the day, week, and seasons provide a structure within which
the child gains a secure relationship to the world. Creative indoor and outdoor
play, puppet storytelling, circle time, and artistic activities provide a
balance between the free, creative expression of the child and teacher-led
group experience. Weekly artistic activities include water color painting,
baking, and a variety of hands on experiences with natural fibers and materials
that foster a rich education of the senses. The nurturing curriculum naturally
supports an age-appropriate development of social skills, physical motor skills,
and creates a solid foundation for later academic learning.
Classes
Our Nursery program is offered for children from 3 to 4 years old. Classes
are held 3 days a week on Tuesday-Thursday from 8:45 am to 1:00 pm.
