•Extended Day for Nursery and Kindergarten Students

The Sarasota Waldorf School will offer an Extended Day program for students enrolled in our Nursery and Kindergarten programs commencing September 2007. Operation of the Extended Day program will be staffed directly by school personal and will be structured as an extension of the rhythmic Waldorf school day with age appropriate activities.

The Extended Day program addressed the needs of working parents who want their children to receive quality afternoon care consistent with the principles of Waldorf education.

The Extended Day program staff includes one part-time teacher under the supervision of the full-time Early Childhood teachers. The staff creates a harmonious environment with rhythm and structure, and opportunities for free play, games, crafts and rest, as well as other activities.

Extended Day Hours

1 pm to 4 pm each school day.

For those choosing the 3 day option, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday attendance is expected unless otherwise indicated on the Registration form. Consistent attendance is expected to insure a continuity of care for all.

The Extended Day program will not operate on School holidays or professional days.

The Extended Day program will be open on noon dismissal days as indicated on the School Calendar.

Program Registration

Parents must submit a completed Registration Form and Authorization for Automatic Billing through SMART, pay the full annual Extended Day tuition.

All other school record documents including Emergency Consent and Health Emergency Forms, Permission to Release Child Form, must be up to date as per school policy prior to enrollment.

Parents are responsible for notifying office in writing of any changes.

Extended Day Fees 2007-2008

Annual payments are payable in 8 monthly installments and are based on the child being in the program the full school year. Amounts may be adjusted if the child enters the program mid-year. No credit is given for absences for any reason whatsoever.

Sibling Discount

A 15% sibling discount applies to a second simultaneously enrolled child.

Late Pick-up Fees

If a child in the program is picked up after 4:10 pm the parent will be charged $1.00 per minute, charged in 15 minute increments (minimum late fee is $15). Late pick-up fees are due at the time of pick-up, payable cash or check to Sarasota Waldorf, Inc.

Admission

The Extended Day program is only available to Nursery and Kindergarten students currently enrolled at the Sarasota Waldorf School. No drop-ins accepted. All Sarasota Waldorf School policies, procedures and standards apply, including the Discipline and Personal Conduct code as outlined in the Parent Handbook.
